At Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL), our foremost commitment is to provide every citizen of Uttarakhand with reliable, affordable, safe, and sustainable electricity while continually transforming ourselves into a future-ready, technology-driven power distribution utility. Electricity is much more than a service, it is the foundation of economic growth, industrial development, quality of life, and social progress. As the sole distribution utility of the State, we recognize the immense responsibility entrusted to us by the Government and the people of Uttarakhand.
Over the years, UPCL has embarked on a remarkable journey of modernization, digital transformation, and operational excellence. We are strengthening our distribution network, improving reliability, reducing technical and commercial losses, and enhancing consumer convenience through the adoption of advanced technologies. Our initiatives under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), Smart Programme, and other infrastructure development projects are laying the foundation for an intelligent, resilient, and sustainable power distribution ecosystem that will serve generations to come.
As we move ahead, our vision extends beyond uninterrupted power supply. We aspire to create a truly consumer-centric utility where every service is transparent, accessible, and digitally enabled. The large-scale deployment of smart meters, expansion of online consumer services, mobile applications, and
simplified grievance redressal mechanisms are transforming the way we interact with our consumers. Our objective is to ensure that every consumer can access most services seamlessly, anytime and anywhere, with minimal need for physical visits to our offices.
We are equally committed to supporting India’s clean energy transition. UPCL is actively promoting rooftop solar installations, facilitating the implementation of Government subsidy programmes, and integrating renewable energy into the distribution network. Alongside these efforts, we continue to invest in strengthening critical infrastructure through underground cabling, system automation, modern substations, and advanced monitoring systems to improve resilience, particularly in the geographically challenging terrain of Uttarakhand.
Our responsibility goes beyond delivering electricity. We are an important partner in the State’s economic development by providing dependable power that enables industries, businesses, institutions, and households to thrive. By ensuring quality power supply at competitive tariffs while maintaining financial discipline and operational efficiency, we aim to contribute significantly to Uttarakhand’s investment climate and overall prosperity.
